Either side of some recording sessions and concerts in the UK, the Choir of Clare College, Cambridge and director Graham Ross embarked on a 4-concert tour in France, beginning with a performance in Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, in which we joined forces with the magnificent Maîtrise Notre-Dame de Paris, who had visited us in Cambridge a few days earlier to perform in our own Chapel. A performance in Notre-Dame is not to be forgotten, and our concert there was no exception. What an incredible experience it was! We continued our collaboration with La Maîtrise with concerts at the Musiques Vivantes festival in Vichy and in the extraordinary Moulins Cathedral, performing with the celebrated organist and composer Thierry Escaich. Our final concert took us to the stunning 10th-century Basilica in Évron, where we made our debut at the Festival of Sacred Arts with our ‘Metamorphoses’ programme. We couldn’t have asked for better audiences. A short sleep then followed before jetting off to Malta the next day for our second tour of the summer!
