After a well-earned rest over the Christmas and New Year period, the Choir has now returned to its schedule of weekly services in Clare Chapel and external engagements for Lent Term 2014.  Information about what the choir will be performing in upcoming services, also including our pre-Evensong recital series, can be found on our website under 'Performances'.

To recap the end of 2013, our USA Tour in support of our latest CD 'Veni Emmanuel: Music for Advent' proved very successful, with sold-out audiences across the country as the Choir travelled to Princeton, NJ, Boston, MA, Concord, NH, St. Johnsbury, VT, Cincinnati, OH and Cleveland, OH, before returning once again to St. John's, Smith Square for our final performance of that programme.  We hope you enjoyed our daily Choir-Blog over the course of the tour, which is still available to view on our News page.

Upon arrival back in the UK, the choir's performance of Bach's 'Mass in B Minor' with the Aurora Orchestra at King's Place, London, earned the very highest praise in the national and online press, one such review stating:

“…but highest praise must go to the choir of Clare College, Cambridge, who are under the direction of rising star Graham Ross. Unlike the University boat teams, a college choir cannot fall back on mature opera students but works with the undergraduate voices to hand, which makes the contrapuntal clarity, fluency and special radiance of their singing all the more impressive”.

Our engagements for this term will include a concert at Cadogan Hall (26 Feburary), an appearance at the Southend Festival (21st March) and Spitalfields Festival (20 June), Joint Services with the Choir of Jesus College and the Choir of St. John's College, and the release of our next recording - Stabat mater dolorosa: Music for Passiontide - as part of our major ongoing series for Harmonia Mundi USA of music for the church year.
