On Friday 5 July 2024 at 7:30pm, Clare Choir will give a concert for the Cambridge Summer Music Festival at the Church of Our Lady and the English Martyrs (OLEM)—tickets here.

A celebratory programme of doubles: choral pairings of sacred texts from Byrd and Monte to Bingham and Marsh, and the 20th-century masterpiece that is the Mass for double choir by Swiss composer Frank Martin. The programme also celebrates the centenary of the death of Charles Villiers Stanford, one of the most significant composers for the Anglican church, with his ecstatic double-choir setting of the Magnificat, and his much-loved anthems The Blue Bird and For lo, I raise up—accompanied on the very organ that was built to a specification by Stanford himself.
